Questions
- What does Watchtower cost?
- One household plan: $99/year or $12.99/month. Same features on both. Prices in USD. Tax may apply.
- Can I try it before entering a card?
- Yes. After you connect your first bank and the first useful sync finishes, you have 24 hours with your real accounts and transactions. No card in that window.
- When does the 14-day trial start?
- When you start a subscription with a card, and Stripe confirms it. The trial is 14 days. A card is required. It is not 14 days free with no card.
- What happens after 24 hours?
- If you have not started a trial, you can still read your accounts, transactions, and budgets. You cannot edit or sync until you start a trial or subscribe. Unused bank connections are retired later; history stays.
- Can I connect more than one bank?
- During the 24-hour preview, one institution (any number of eligible accounts in it). A second institution needs an active trial, paid plan, payment grace, or complimentary access.
- Can I switch between monthly and annual?
- Yes. The change takes effect at the next renewal. No proration, and no refund for the unused part of the current period.
- What happens if I cancel?
- You keep access through the end of the current trial or paid period. You can reverse the cancel until then. After that, history stays read-only while the household exists. Bank connections are removed; history is kept.
- Can I get a refund?
- The first paid charge has a 30-day money-back guarantee, once per household. Renewals are not in that guarantee. Email legal@watchtower.money. Details are on the Refund and Cancellation page.
- Will my history be deleted if I stop paying?
- No. History stays readable while the household exists. Bank connections are retired so they do not keep syncing.
- How do I delete my account?
- In the app, under Settings. Deleting a household you own cancels the Stripe subscription immediately and removes that household's accounts, transactions, and budgets.
- Does Watchtower store my card?
- No. Stripe stores the card. Watchtower stores Stripe customer and subscription ids, plan, status, and dates. Not card numbers.
